Trump has seen the enemy and it is the House Freedom Caucus

Analysis The outsider dealmaker faltering in White House

Raw feelings and mistrust could pose an obstacle to President Donald Trump and hard-line conservative lawmakers in his Republican Party as they seek to rebound from defeat on health care legislation by launching into an overhaul of the US tax code. But in the end, majority decided it wasn't enough and said they'd vote against the bill.

In a Twitter post, Trump took aim at the Freedom Caucus, a bloc of the most conservative Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives, indicating he would try to defeat them in next year's congressional elections if they continued to defy him.

It was reportedly determined that the House GOP did not have support from a "sufficient" number of conservative members for the health care legislation to pass.

Speaker Paul Ryan says he understands and shares President Donald Trump's frustration with the House Freedom Caucus.

Senate intel panel working on Russia probe
Asked if retired national security adviser Mike Flynn had been requested to attend, Mr Burr said it was "safe to say" he had. While House Intelligence Committee members say their probe has ground to a halt, Sens.

Calls to members of the caucus were not immediately returned. Poe told Politico that the Freedom Caucus' strategy on the issue "hurt their credibility". Ryan has indicated Republicans will still pursue health care reform.

A White House source says the president is sitting back, letting the Freedom Caucus and Tuesday Group work to see if they can find points of agreement before stepping back in. Texas Rep. Ted Poe, one of the original members of the caucus, resigned from the group this week after the failure of the GOP health care bill, voicing disagreement with how the group handled negotiations.

Yet the same voters who backed their local lawmaker for opposing the bill showed patience with Trump.

"I don't want that to happen", Ryan told CBS "This Morning" program, referring to Trump's offer to work with Democrats.

North Korea tests new high-thrust rocket engine
Kim called the test "a great event of historic significance" for the country's indigenous rocket industry, the KCNA report said. It might though soon be able to demonstrate that it had perfected an ICBM system's booster rocket stage.

Under the compromise proposal, the original "bathroom Bill" would be repealed, but the new proposal would not extend to multi-stall restrooms and it would also not extend to places of work, hotels or restaurants until 2020. Mr. Trump said after the legislation failed that he had "learned a lot about loyalty" in Washington.

The comment from Trump comes as several members of the House Freedom Caucus opposed the GOP plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, leading Republican leaders to pull the bill last Friday. Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., is the group's chairman, and he's often accompanied by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, who was the former chairman, and Rep. Raul Labrador, R-Idaho.

"I know what my relationship with the White House is with Tom Price is, Mick Mulvaney, Mike Pence and Donald Trump so I am not gonna get all hung up about a tweet", he said. "But the reality is that if we all went home next week with a bill with only a 17 percent approval rating, I think we would all regret that vote".

"The only way for us to govern and deliver on our promises is for Republicans not to turn the cannons on each other but stand united behind shared principles", Cruz said. Speaker of the House John Boehner, who was the top Republican officeholder during much of Barack Obama's presidency, constantly grappled with rebellious House members right up until he was forced from the speakership in September 2015.
