India Retain Their Fourth Position in the Latest ICC ODI Rankings

IQBAL Qasim says there is lot at stake for Pakistan

Pakistan's Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq on Thursday announced his retirement from worldwide cricket informing that the upcoming series against West Indies will be his last tournament with the team.

Pakistan Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq at the MCG in December, is planning to quit global cricket.

"The Test team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions in the West Indies and the recent performances of players during the domestic and global season", Haq told AFP.

"There were many hardships in my career but for now I am focusing on the present".

Misbah ul-Haq will quit cricket after the three-Test series in the West Indies beginning later this month.

Misbah confirmed he had thought about retirement from test matches by end of 2015 but the tours to England, New Zealand and Australia spurred him on to continue leading the side.

Sherman trade talk is 'real' on 'both sides — Seahawks GM
The Colts have the cap space to be able to do that without much trouble, but adding Sherman would have that impact. While Sherman isn't really super old (he's 29 years old), there are some things that must be thought through.

He finished 2016 as one of Wisden's Cricketers of the Year and briefly led Pakistan to the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test Rankings last year.

Misbah holds the record of captaining Pakistan in the most test matches as skipper.

Misbah regretted that he couldn't lead Pakistan against India during his test career and also Pakistan couldn't do well in the 50-over World Cups in 2011 and 2015. "However, a consensus has been reached that the Test matches against West Indies will be his last series", Khan said.

Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said the 16-member squad was selected "keeping in mind the conditions in the West Indies and the recent performances of players" in the domestic and worldwide season.

Senior sports journalist Majid Bhatti said Misbah's announcement is a positive for Pakistan cricket.

Misbah, who will turn 43 in May, had earlier asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for time to decide on his future following whitewash defeats in his last two series against Australia and New Zealand, respectively. "A cricketer should have fitness and passion for playing and if now he thinks it is the right time for him to give up worldwide cricket then it is good", he said. "You don't get everything you ask for", he said.

Google will solve its ad placement problems, IPG's Michael Roth says

The Pakistanis are eyeing their first Test series victory on Caribbean soil, having failed to succeed on seven previous trips to the region and won just five of 23 matches there.

The hosts are coming off an emphatic 3-1 loss to Pakistan in the preceding four-match Twenty20 global series, and find themselves under pressure ahead of the one-day rubber.

This will also be the final serigs before the annual update is carried out on May 1 to ensure the table continues to reflect teams' recent form with older results being discarded.

The matches will be played at the Guyana National Stadium starting on Friday.

Misbah also called on everyone to support newly-appointed skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and said, "We should not put pressure on Sarfraz; instead we should support him".
