Loeding identified the victims as a mother and her two daughters: Taylor Pifer, 21, Kylie Pifer, 18, and the mother Suzanne Taylor, 45.

The three women - a mother and her two adult daughters - were found dead by a family friend Sunday night at a home, said North Royalton Police Lt. Dave Loeding.

Authorities say the friend found the three Sunday night at a home in North Royalton, south of Cleveland.

Kylie and Taylor were both in college living with their mother.

Herrera said the number of troopers killed is "part and parcel of our offensive operations". The extremists occupied a hospital, jail and other buildings in Marawi City last month.

Loeding confirmed there was no gun involved.

Loeding said none of the victims suffered gunshot wounds, despite earlier reports that the women were shot.

A motive for the killings remains unclear, but police said the case does not involve a suicide. A woman who was in the house is now outside and unharmed. They found stab wounds in one of the victims but were not able to determine a likely cause of death for the other two women.

Adding, 'But there is more work to be done'. No arrests have been made.
