Hurricane Irma Seems To Be Sucking Water From Shorelines

The wind on Long Island in the Bahamas moved from the southeast to the northwest Saturday afternoon, which is causing the water to blow away from the shoreline.

This is one of those things - a hurricane strong enough to change the shape of an ocean.

Since the hurricane is so strong and its pressure is very low, it is sucking water from its surroundings and bringing it into the core of the storm.

Luckily for the locals, the water did not come gushing in all at once, with Adrian later tweeting that the sea "came back".

A Twitter user posted a video Saturday afternoon showing what appears to be a dried out shoreline somewhere in the Bahamas.
